Item #137
14K Yellow Gold Chippendale Chair Pendant With Orange Synthetic Sapphire Seat
Description
A highly detailed 14K yellow gold pendant in the form of a Chippendale shield-back side chair — a rare and whimsical mid-century novelty piece. The chair back features the classic Chippendale pierced splat with lattice and vase motifs, flanked by shaped uprights, and the four legs terminate in carved ball-and-claw feet. The seat is set with a large step-cut (emerald-cut) orange synthetic sapphire, prong-set within the chair frame. The stone displays a vivid orange color with strong internal reflections. The bale is integrated into the top rail of the chair back and is also marked 14K. Marked 14K inside one chair leg and stamped with what appears to read CBV inside another leg. Total weight 4.54 g. Total height including bale approximately 34 mm; width approximately 13 mm; depth approximately 12 mm. Stone measures approximately 12 mm × 10 mm × 5.3 mm.
